Blank Space at Verge

Thursday 1 September 2011
1pm
Verge Tent

Blank Space is a theatre forum run by SUDS, featuring six Sydney theatre practitioners devoted to exploring the question of what is culturally unique about Australian theatre. Blank Space aims to inspire and challenge young people to move in the direction of becoming theatre professionals in their own right.

For this special Verge Tent appearance, Blank Space will be working alongside Verge to open up the questions raised by Australian theatre to the University of Sydney and the Verge community. What is the signature of Australian theatre? Is this compatible with an international reputation in theatre?

Speakers:
Tom Wright: Associate Director of Sydney Theatre Company
Sam Strong: Artistic Director of Griffin Theatre Company
Anthea Williams: Literary Manager of Belvoir St Theatre
Hilary Bell: Playwright (Wolf Lullaby)
Suzie Miller: Playwright (Transparency)
Caroline Craig: Actor, Director (STC’s Loot)
